Dr Arti Appannah
Research Fellow
Arti is a Research Fellow with the Research Institute. Arti completed a Bachelor of Management and Psychology at Monash University, and a Master of Organisational Psychology at Deakin University. Inspired by her Master’s research thesis on the ageing workforce, she pursued a PhD that examined the factors contributing to building an age-friendly organisational culture at the University of Melbourne. The research was funded by the Australian Research Council and conducted in collaboration with the Brotherhood of St Laurence, building in a social policy perspective to her degree. Arti has worked on several projects within the fields of organisational psychology and gerontology, including working on a landmark study on cognitive health, ‘Australian Imaging Biomarkers and Lifestyle study’. She has also worked in research management at La Trobe University on large research impact and evaluation projects. Her research interests span organisational culture, ageing workforce, workplace diversity, and wellbeing. Arti has produced a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at national and international conferences.
