Dr Sarah Bonell
Research Fellow
Sarah completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Queensland between 2014 and 2017 and her PhD in psychology at the University of Melbourne between 2018 and 2022. Her previous research in part has focused on the relationship between ageing and body image; that is, the ways in which getting older shapes and shifts how we feel about our appearance. Since starting at Bolton Clarke in 2024, Sarah has been working on the Connecting Communities to Care project which aims to improve social connection and wellbeing for older people in Victoria.
Sarah has published 13 research articles and has presented her work at both national and international conferences. She is an expert in both quantitative and qualitative research methods and is passionate about open science principles and mentoring student researchers. Sarah has extensive experience liaising with the media. In 2024, she was a finalist for ABC’s Top 5 Media Residency Program in Science.
