Severe weather update - TC Alfred

Our Queensland and Northern NSW services are preparing for extreme weather conditions connected with Tropical Cyclone Alfred, which is currently off the Queensland coast.

Residential aged care: Our residential care homes remain focused on the safety of our residents and employees. We are well prepared for Tropical Cyclone Alfred, now expected to make landfall tomorrow or Saturday. We continue to closely monitor conditions and work to keep residents comfortable through this severe weather event.
All homes have extra food, water and clinical supplies on site, with additional team members rostered on to provide support as needed.
Retirement living: Village managers across all affected communities are in close contact with residents to identify specific needs including additional food and medical supplies and to connect residents with additional care and assistance where needed.
Home and community support: Services have been temporarily paused in affected areas, with welfare calls in place to ensure all clients are safe and have sufficient food, medication supplies.
Teams have been working closely with clients to ensure appropriate emergency plans are in place.
Local teams are also monitoring closely the situation and relevant updates from local health and emergency services.

Residential aged care: Our residential care homes are preparing for Tropical Cyclone Alfred, expected to make landfall north of Brisbane sometime late Thursday night/early Friday morning. We are keeping a close watch on developing conditions and have activated our business continuity plans.
The safety of our residents and employees is our number one priority. Our teams are engaging with emergency service and local disaster management teams to co-ordinate planning efforts. We are well prepared for the coming days and have extra food, water and clinical supplies on site, with additional team members rostered on to provide support during the weather event. Our maintenance teams have ensured back-up generators are serviced and emergency lighting is on hand and have secured submersible pumps and sandbags where required.
Retirement living: Business continuity plans have been activated for villages in the path of TC Alfred.
Village managers are in close contact with residents to identify specific needs including additional food and medical supplies. Teams are also working to connect residents with additional care where needed.
Home and community support: Services may be temporarily paused in some affected areas. Teams are working with clients requiring support services to ensure appropriate emergency plans are in place. Additional team members are available to support essential care delivery.
Local teams are also in close contact with relevant health networks and emergency services.
