Among them, the name of Matron Gwenda Shaw, who was an aged care nurse for 30 years, spending 18 of them working at Fernhill. She was often referred to as ‘Caboolture’s Florence Nightingale,’ the ‘angel of aged care.’

For Bolton Clarke Milford Grange resident Ralph Edwards, ANZAC Day has added significance every year. Born in Roma, in central western Queensland, on 21 April 1919 during the final months of World War I, Ralph served Australia in World War II in the Citizens Military Forces and then the Australian Imperial Force, spending time in Labuan, Borneo working on 40,000-gallon prefabricated steel fuel tanks.
